Does anyone have some graph pictures they can share or their thought process in finding sandies/hybrids/stripers whatever you are fishing for.

I fish out of a 17’ skeeter so I’m always a little hesitant to run across Texoma or other big body lakes if the wind might pick up. I’ve usually just relied on the wind blown banks and rocks, but I would love to find a school of fish that is deeper down and slab for them or cast at them.

I have a Garmin 73 at the steering wheel, just don’t use it to its full capability I believe. So any tips are appreciated. Head to the deepest part of the lake and start using down Imaging or SI? Any pics or tips would be a big help on how you start each day when fish aren’t visible up top. Thanks

Points, humps, flats that suddenly drop into channels. Most lakes in Texas are already beginning to develop a thermocline. Figure out what depth the thermocline is at and then use a contour map to identify structure that intersects deeper water at the thermocline level you will eliminate a lot of water. Look for areas holding bait. Mark those areas and then visit them at various times. You will cross paths with the sandies/hybrids/stripers sooner rather than later.

My two cents. Good luck and good fishing.

I agree with the statement above. Just about all year long I fish structure for whites. Here are some pictures of what whites look like hanging out on structure when they are not suspended.

I’ll try to get some more graph next time I go out and post them.

Let me know if you need more help.

On your bottom right graph image, are the yellow balls on the bottom fish or structure? I still have a hard time distinguishing fish when they are flat on the bottom. I will try to take a video next time, my graph really did not show anything then I dropped my lure and on my panoptix saw about 10 fish rise from the bottom to check it out...

Here’s a few graph pics from today. I like to throw a marker buoy out as soon as I see fish so I can throw baits to them or turn around and spot lock and present shad to fish.[Linked Image]

Large School of sand bass found at large creek channel in main lake, there was a slight drop off that the fish were hanging along. Seen some type of gulls just sitting on the water, little to no top action. birds just sitting there. I idled around the area and the graph lit up. threw out a marker and started with Rattletrap and shad colored squarebill. caught a few then switched to slabbing to get down to fish. all larger fish were right on bottom or very deep. Would catch a fish every cast on the slab for as long as i stayed there and left them biting. this was earlier this spring on Ray Roberts Lake. fun day
