My motor is a 96 150 efi mercury. the ecu is shot. In trying to find a new one, I've found one from a 2000 150 efi. I'm just wanting to make sure they're compatible. internet info seems to be limited in this area. Does anyone know if this ecu will work before I waste $600?

Thanks yall

My 1996 200 EFI ECU recently went out also. I was on the fence about buying a used ECU so I went with the Brucato ACU for peace of mind. Just a suggestion in case you don't find one used.

I would be concerned if the parts don't have the same part number. ECU's can have different programming.

By everything I am seeing it should work.

I sent my 2000 merc 200 efi Ecu to Simon Motorsports, got it back in less than 2 weeks 100% refurbished. Even though They said it might take them 4 weeks. Total cost was $665.

I just made a similar post to yours and also bought the brucado unit for my 200 merc. Was your set up correctly out of the box for yor motor? Mine sure wasn't however my mechanic had to spend some time getting it correct. as I said in my post the excelleration is not as responsive at the low end as expected. Seems like a soft pedal up to 1500 and then goes fine.

As I said in the above post my acu from Brucado now works fine but takes a bit of time to dial in the needs of your motor. Probably 6 different settings and most are already set but may take tweaking for your set up. Ken
