Fished Fayette yesterday with friend Lloyd from daybreak til 6:00 pm. Wind was light most of the day.Fishing was good until around 1:00 then it just shut down. Future trips will be half day in the summer months. Water temp got up to 96 degrees by the time we left. Ended up with around 60 sunfish & maybe 10 bass. Tried 2 new areas with zero success. Kept 3 fish for the fry pan that had swallowed the hooks & released the rest. All fish caught on drop shot with night crawlews.[Linked Image]

Always a good post and great photos. Would like to see what you are calling a "drop shot". Just like the typical bass rig drop shot?

Basscatone...pretty much like the bass rig drop shot, except I use the Spinshot which has the swivel built in...I set the hook about 5 inches above the drop shot weight...

Your Video was really entertaining...Fayette used to be my Home Lake but weekends got so crowded it wasn't fun anymore. But you stirred that fishing fever...fishing Ultra-Light for Bluegill. Thanks for the info...looks easy enough for a novice Gill fisherman. Taking the wife, she get bored to easily Bass fishing...looks like I would be busy Baiting hook and Releasing Fish! One question: how much night crawler do you put on that hook? I agree.... half day trips at this time of the year.

Wug...I put as much as I can cram on there with some hanging off the end...but it really doesn't matter...have caught them on tiny pieces as well...

Hey Vogey. Where did you find #6 VMC drop shot hooks....All I have seen is #5 and #8 . Tried FishUSA, Land Big Fish, Tackle Warehouse or are just they are sold out. Is June the best month for shallow Gills?

Thinking they are not drop shoot style hooks but that is why I asked the hook size! I think a 6 is little bitty.
