Having problems getting the blades on my trolling motor to turn. It’s a brand new boat and it hasn’t been used before. Battery is charged just can’t get the blades to move. Any suggestions? Is there something I’m missing?

Have you checked the breaker back at the battery? Battery connections? Both switches on foot pedal? Does prop turn easily by hand? Actually, there are 3 switches on the pedal. My Edge 45 is only 3 years old, and not used a lot. With that said, I have already had to replace two of the three switches on the pedal. I’m replacing my Edge with a Terrova next week!
Please let us know what you find wrong with it.

Check the switch on the side of the pedal. It says “MOM”-“OFF”-“CON”. Mom is momentary. That’s where you want the switch to rest. It allows you to press the pedal toe button and power the motor. The dial side is 0-10. Start out with it on around 6-7. That’s a decent power. 10 is overkill. 1-4 is too weak on an edge 45.
