Never thought I would be able to live with myself if I put one on, but I bought one for my last 2 trucks and will never be without one again. 30 seconds to have a wide open bed like it was never there and the rest of the time, I leave what I want covered, out of the weather, and as secure as anything can be these days.

I have the roll up cover. Love it. Can keep some valuables back there and then roll it up in a matter of seconds if I need to the whole bed. Only downside is it seems if someone really wanted to they could cut the cover and get what they need.

bakflip on the f150, I like being able to leave a toolbox and other "stuff" in the bed and not worry about someone "borrowing" it.

I have the Roll N Lock and love it Wife and I just got back from out of state fishing trip, slid all the stuff for the boat under it and used key fob to lock it with rest of the truck doors

I have a BAKFlip MX4 on our F150 and we love it. We also have the Bed Rug in to keep everything from sliding around and to cushion your knees if you get in the bed to do anything. You can buy one for less than $700.00 if you know where to look. This ^

My experience: If you have a short bed, you have lots of options and most work really well. If you have a long bed, be prepared for some frustrations. Most if not all, do not fit well. Regardless, I seen an improvement of 1 more mile per gallon when I put my cover on my long bed. Call my crazy but the numbers don't lie.
I think most, if not all, long beds are a different width at the back (glass) and front (gate). The problem with that tapering is that the covers are not tapered. They are square. I have a cover that is retractable. While it works OK, you sacrifice the resistance of water. So then you're left with the situation of: my stuff was protected from the wind, but it still got a little wet.
I think my next one will be one that flips in sections. If I can find one that fits both ends of the bed. This way, I can just remove the whole thing when needed. I do like my Rollbak. But it has some positives & negatives.

Take an air mattress and put back there and put the sleeping bag on it and I've got a covered bug and rain proof sleeping quarters, when I'm at my dads trailer at fork - as its better than sleeping on his couch, unless it's hotter than Hattie's

i put a cheap 250 tri-fold soft top on my bed when I got it & its still there today, easy to take off when need full bed, keeps luggage & stuff dry on trips, offers a slight sense of security although that only goes as far as not tempting honest folks

I have a Roll-N-Lock, It works pretty dang good and stays pretty dry even in driving rain. If it does get water in the bed that usually means the two drain lines that go from the cover storage compartment into drain ports in my bed are clogged with leaves and debris. When it's open I have complete access to my bed, then when I travel it keeps my rods and reels, tackle baseball gear, golf bag etc... safe and dry. It also allows me to keep a 40qt. Cabelas Tundra Cooler in the back of the truck and the lid still slides shut if it was 1/60th of an inch taller then it wouldn't make it.They are on the pricier side, I got a pretty good deal on mine but still had to give $1100 for it.

Have the Roll n Lock on both my 2500 and 3500 and they works really well. Like the fact it locks when you lock your truck and tailgate plus I can still pull a gooseneck or 5th wheel.

Cargo barMilk CratesI use the Cargo Bar listed above just inside the tailgate and a set of the "Milk Crates" (they are longer than the square ones) to put groceries or anything else in it to keep it from flying forward. I have a couple Plano Waterproof "Ammo Boxes" to keep my tow straps, ratchet straps, air compressor, and other necessary items dry and organized in the bed.
