in yalls opinion would y'all rather catch a limit of 25 good sized white bass or 5 good sized striped bass or hybrids .me personally I would rather catch 25 good whites because I love to eat fish and whites I heard taste better than hybrids or striped bass and I think you would get more meat out of the limit of whites but I wanna hear what y'all think just for fun

I prefer Stripers. But love catching Sandies. But usually catch both when fishing for Stripers. Also, I dont understand Texas having a limit on sandies. Oklahoma has no limits and will never be in danger of hurting sandy population.

Five Stripers or Hybrids. Clean five fish vs. 25 fish. Some will argue about the difficulty of cleaning one vs. the other, but it is not much more work with a good knife to clean a bigger fish. You will be supervised how much meat five 8 lb Stripers will yield, and how little a 15 white yields. Personally, I dont eat many whites, I find if I keep 2 or 3 Stripers per trip it is enough fish for us. We catch a chit load of whites each year, and release all that are not injured. As for taste, I prefer Striper, it also has a texture similar to the saltwater fish we catch and like to eat much more. As for Hybrids, I guess they are ok, I dont fish lakes very often that has a large population of them, we usually throw them back. When I fished Bridgeport all the time, we used to go catch Hybrids for fun, and then go pull a limit of Crappie for eating.

I grill almost all the fish we eat. I prefer a steak sized fillet vs the much smaller sandbass fillet when I cook them on the grill. If you cut the red out of hybrids and stripers then soak it in water overnight in the frig it taste just like sandbass. I enjoy catching bigger fish much more when they start stripping drag anyway.

I get a cookie sheet out. Lay enough tin foil on it to lap over and roll the ends up to completely seal the sides and ends. Spray with Pam cooking oil or olive oil. Lay fillets out with skin side down. The side that the red was sliced off. Put 1/2 teaspoon of butter on each fillet 1/4 on each end kinda spaced out not spread /smeared out across it. Sprinkle cavenders Greek seasoning pretty liberally. Then sprinkle mrs dash's lemon pepper or itailian garlic and herb pretty liberally also. Fold foil over and roll edges a couple of times to seal completely. On gas grills I set it at halfway between low and medium. About 300*. When it's 90* outside more towards low. Cook for 20 minutes no more or less. Foil will swell up on top with the steam building up so be careful when you unroll the end with a fork or spatula to open it. Sweet potato fries or tots go well with this way too. Enjoy!

Fewer fish to clean, more meat per fish and less effort / fish per meal.

I'm a big fish guy. I'd rather catch big Stripers or Hybrids over school fish. If I'm Sandbass fishing it's because I'm taking folks that just want to have a good time. As far as eating, If you cook Striper on the half shell, wrapped in foil, with butter and solid seasoning, it rivals Redfish. Call me crazy but it does.

Depends on what "good sized stripers and hybrids" means. I've had a couple of trips where I caught 12 stripers in two days that weighed 20 to 25 lbs each. And the guide said it was slow! He said the fish were usually bigger and we should've caught more! If that's what we're talking about, I'd rather catch 5 stripers of that size.
I'm sure most of you want to know where this is. Some of you know. It's in NE Tennessee with a guide by the name of Ezell Cox.

I am happy to fish for either. If one is biting better than the other I will fish for it.
