Wow the water is up for sure. We fished what is typically dry wooded areas. Fished as far back as we could get was still in 8 feet of water. Fish seem to be very spread out for the most part. Bite was weird. Had a ton of bites and would reel in a couple of cranks and they would come off. Had a big blow up on a frog and he came off, looked to be in the 4-5 pound range and never got another sniff on the frog. Punched grass mats and got freight trained by a 4 pounder and got it landed, not another bite on it. Got the most bites dead sticking flukes. Partner had a 6-7 come off on him on the fluke at the boat. I caught a few on the fluke and lost what felt to be a good one. Grass everywhere.

I've experienced the same thing, about only thing getting bit is a weightless senko in the flooded stuff. I have caught a few on a spinner bait.

To launch currently by myself I have to let the boat off the trailer and spot lock it, park the trailer and swim to boat

I was there last Saturday through Thursday, weightless senko was definitely getting bit more than anything else, a lot of the fish we were catching were right on the bank

One thing I noticed last year when the lake was high and way back in the trees like now is that you had to throw at "just the hardwoods". They weren't on pine trees just the oaks/sweet gum/maples. And yes as far back as you could skip/pitch/throw it they were there. Braided line and a heavy action rod and I still lose several 5+ lbers crawling them over limbs... :-( But it was sure was fun having all those bites!!
