I have not caught much and really have not fished more than a few minutes a couple times with this, but have caught a couple small bass on it, but as of this time I am sure that a Crappie has not seen it to see what happens. Also notice the 30 MM chenille and how it plays back after it's been wet and used a little. Also this tail is FL Yellow, but I can't get it to show the right color so it is what it, lol! Skip

I'll bet using the tip of that tail will work great maybe a inch of it..... With it that long will bring a lot of short strikes..... Still a good lookn jig....

I'll bet using the tip of that tail will work great maybe a inch of it..... With it that long will bring a lot of short strikes..... Still a good lookn jig.... As it sits here I see it more of a bait for bass, but I do think maybe not go all the way to 1", but maybe cut in half it will become a big crappie bait. I say this based on how many crappie are caught on bass baits like spinner baits and crank baits. I see it all the time here on Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn where the bass guys tell us about them catching some crappie. So I believe if I cut the 4" long ones in half it will give me 2 tails that will offer more action than a soft plastic. I think going to a 1" on these will just defeat the propose and make a high cost product to costly loss. I do also believe using one of these even if cut in half will allow a larger blade that can be used. Besides if I cut the 4" one in half and tie each as a tail the tying in will take up at least 1/4", maybe even 1/2" so that will leave about 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" long tails. I have not decided what I can do to the 6" ones yet. So this one is just to see what they look like wet and dry, I also proved that large Mylar chenille will lay down when wet and not look so huge, but really dress up the look. Tat is Estaz Grande chenille which is 30mm! Maybe I can even change to a 1/16 OZ Roadrunner head and use the short version? Skip
