So, I visited Picachos April 2018, December 2018, and then again April 2019. Rods were provided in ample quantities, with brands such as TFO, Shimano, Dobyns, etc. Hell, they led us to a room (#15), where there were at least a few hundred rods. I guess if you did not know it was there, you probably picked from a small stack that some helper took up to the rooms. I found these rods more than adequate. Make sure to find the ones that have not been repaired. We even had a selection of brand new rods, still in the wrapping material. Our best day, we boated 253 bass, I'm just not sure how much better the fishing could have been had I only had my high end rods with me - insert sarcasm!

I carried my own rods for the last time when TSA opened my rod tube, removed every rod, removed the bubble wrap and packing material, then failed miserably to put 8 rods back in the tube. Lastly, I have NEVER been able to ship my own rods for $30. I have ALWAYS been charged $75 each way, as the tube was considered over-sized luggage. I'm also Executive Platinum on American, it did not help with the over-sized luggage. The juice is not worth the squeeze when it comes to taking your own rods down to MX - IMHO.

If you go to Anglers Inn and don't see rods that suit your needs on the racks, just ask Sammy/Ramon (El Salto) or Jose (Picachos) for other options.
