If I could have got it in my garage I woulda bought a CC. My buddy has a 22' Skeeter CC and we bass fish out of it all the time. The only downside I see with a CC is the rod box and tackle storage is scare too. I bought a Skeeter ZX 190 because that's the biggest I could get in my garage. Not the case on my Champ. I have so much storage that some times I lose stuff. Rod box is great. The only problem is the TM gets in the way when you open the lid

I much prefer center console. Prefer to drive standing up for visibility, and like having vertical rod holders on the side of console better than rods laying all over the deck. Trick is to find a center console with a large enough front deck that you can comfortably fish from it & run a trolling motor. Some have it but a lot don't.

CC all the way. I have a skeeter 20 bay and we absolutely love it. Plenty of room to roam.

Center console for sure. In my opinion bass boats are built 90% for speed and 10% for fishing. Center consoles are made for fishing. Pay very close attention to the degree of dead rise. Some center console bay boats have a sharper "v" at the bow that makes a huge difference in the ride in a chop.

I've had an aluminum bass boat and now own an aluminum CC. I won't go back. I like the ability to walk on either side of the console, the fact that Hummingbird on top of it is closer to eye level and also the seat in front of it with the livewell under it. It's easier to move around in and, at least for me, it's easier to get out of each other's way when there's more than 2 people. I think being in the middle of the boat, along with the higher seat, also makes it easier to trailer.

Center console for sure. They fish the flats that are much shallower than lakes all the time. They are usually just not as fast, which is probably a good thing.

Wow this is a great thread. I too have been trying to decide between center console and a standard bass boat.. I am hearing you give up some speed for the CC. Not a problem for me. I am getting too old to go too fast. How about a top on these CC's?? shade could be nice on occasion. Do you have bridge clearance problems? Could you really fish a bass tournament out of this type of boat? Would you be laughed of the podium?? Some of you guys that do not like CC should chime in and present some opposing arguments..

I don't think you will find anybody who has anything negative to say about a center console. If you like to go fast there are center consoles out there that will run as fast as a bass boat. If you read bass boat forums most of the discussions are along the lines of "mines faster than yours" or "Watch this video of my Bullet overtaking a Ranger". I even read a thread about a guy buying all new rods and reels that match the color of his bass boat for a tournament. WTH? There are very few discussions on fishability. Guys who buy bass boats usually have something more to prove than how many fish they can catch. On the days that the entire family wants to hit the lake for a play day a center console can seat everybody and pull a skier or tube. You just can't do that with a bass boat.

I know you're only asking about Bass and CC boats, however, I have friends that fish from a Pontoon and V hull. The point being, each boat has qualities that might be preferable over the other styles (probably redundantly stating the obvious). My CC will reach 45 to 50 mph and that's fast enough for me on the Corp. lakes I fish and inshore fishing I hope to do. Along with some of the other preferences I mentioned before, it was the best fit for me and my family. I had a great deal of input and advice before making the purchase, but for me, I wasn't convinced until I got on the boat and drove it.
