Hopefully the weather pattern has changed. The wind has been brutal. For weeks we have been very limited id areas we could fish. I have been fishing or running instructional trips 4-5 day per week. We have had great fun watching the fish react to our jigs on the livescope. We have been averaging 12-20 Crappie per morning while instructing. The bite has been tough on Jigs. Today I tried some minnows . First time in a long time and I kind of enjoyed the change. Was very successful. The fish would swim right up to the minnow and when you saw the minnow disappear you would raise the rod until you felt it get heavy and then set the hook. They didn't want the minnow on a jig head only free swimming. I used a #1 snelled hook with a 1/4 oz pinch on weight about 6 " above the minnow. Caught 15 in two hours before the storms chased us off.

Great report. I am seeing the exact same pattern. Minnows are out fishing jigs for me. All coming off an aberdeen hook with a split shot. I am glad the wind is letting down as well. Should be great fishing the next few days.
