Due to lake Whitney flooding the state park is closed, I have not fished lake Bunchann before and wanted to know which lake would be better for striper fishing. We will be camping for a week looking to see which place has better options

The Fishing on Buchanan is really picking up. If you are wanting big hybrids than Twak is the lake. For Stripers both are good and about equal. the big fish have recovered on Buch from the devastating drought. 8 yrs or so ago. I think Buchanan for the most part will be less crowded and not as many potlickers. Both great lakes

My choice would be Twok for sure but it is only 1/2 hour from the house. Fished Buchanan last year in June. First time I had been on the lake in 30 years. Finding fish was not a problem. Spent almost the whole morning looking for bait. I think we had about 8 in the tank when I called it quits. At Twok I can find bait even when lure season gets here. Mostly threadfins right now the gizzards have not really shown up.
