Picking up a used boat next weekend and plan on upgrading the Sonar/GPS Mainly will be used for the flats so my primary concern is good GPS.
Occasionally I would like to fish the jetties in POC in the fall for bulll reds when it is calm.
Trying to decide if having sidescan is worth the additional cost or not.
Thoughts?

Its fun to look at.....but it wont change where along those jetties and how you fish for bull reds now. You already know where and how. You wont use it all in the flats as you know. It will help find deeper reefs drifting midbay for summer time fishing....if you fish that way.

Livescope would be more suited for what you are wanting to do rather than sidevu.
