About 2-3 years ago there was a thread about the oil folks used for frying their fish. A lot of forum members swore by Mrs Tuckers, so I tried it and have used it since. It had been a while since I fried fish because I had gotten into reds on the half shell. Caught a mess of blue cats recently so I went to the local HEB here in Seguin where I had been getting it. Well, none found. Went to the HEB website and it said it was no longer available. I had also gotten it at Fiesta and the same story there. Help! I hope they didnt go out of business. Can anyone please shed some light on where one can buy Mrs Tuckers now?

I think it is half lard half vegetable oil. I pan fry our fish in lard. Its good.

Vegetable oil will kill you. I use coconut oil or lard when deep-frying.

When pan-frying, I use avocado or olive oil.

I have Plan B and Plan C just in case, but I really prefer Mrs Tucker's. Anyone out there still able to find it and where? Thanks

You may be out of luck on this. Read their plant in Sherman is the focus of lawsuits relating to asbestos exposure at the plant so they may be upside down.
