I am debating replacing parts or just buying a complete inner sleeve. Parts would be about $60 less for master cylinder, reverse solenoid, shock, and plunger. Not even sure I would need all the parts but while I have it off I would want to have them on hand. Normally I would jump on the savings by replacing the parts but since I have never had one of these apart I think the complete assembly is the best route. That is unless someone says rebuilding one is a walk in the park.

I rebuilt mine years ago and don't recall any problems doing it myself. BTW I used a vacuum bleeder to bleed the brakes after the rebuild.....

Just replace entire assembly and be done with it.

Magils Prop Shop can fix you up on brakes thanks, I have the parts on order. I have no problem doing brakes myself and no way am I hauling my boat to Magils. That is if I am thinking of the right place.

When i bought my boat the metal lines rubbed holes in it inside the frame so i replaced the lines, master cylinder that was leaking, and shock. Wasn't hard.
Bleeding was the biggest pain. Mighty vac did most of it but just couldn't get all the air out completely until pumping it up with a screw driver at the tongue. wasn't fun.
Cheaper than the entire part and you still got to bleed it all even with that.

Also, the reverse lock out solenoid is one of the more expensive components. Do I just trust it? I decided that if I order all of the parts the cost is not that much different. I filled the current one and bled it. It is not too bad with 2 people. Master cylinder is no good at the least and it is leaking. I have seen no signs of leaks behind the master cylinder.

You should not have a problem but Mcgills prop and trailer is great.
Can you put 12 volts on the solenoid to check it?

Replaced inner slide and brake line and bled the brakes. No more slamming on take offs. I discovered tonight that brakes are working just fine. I unhooked everything and went to back up in to backyard. Tore up some grass before I realized that I needed to keep the electrical plug hooked up.
