I’m living in MN for this summer and have the boat up here. The only storage available at some of these places I’m looking at do not have outlets to charge my batteries in the boat with. Is there any other way to charge my boat batteries without having an outlet nearby?

A generator is the only thing I can come up with.

Does the storage unit have a light? I have been known to add a plug.

You can screw in a bulb/outlet adapter if the unit has a fixture.
Or, wire in an outlet.

Fish2222 is correct.

You won't be grounded, but a light bulb adapter is the easiest short term fix. Make sure you get an adapter that has a pull chain... this way you can leave the switch on 24/7.

I would make sure that the owners are OK with this approach. If not, they could unplug you when you are gone. My marina will do this if someone uses a cord or adapter that is not up to code. They don't do it to be jerks... they have spot inspections by the Corp and need to make sure they don't get dinged.

I just removed the light switch and replaced it with a switch/plug. You pick up the ground from the EMT. Swap it back when you move out.

I use a quiet generator when we primitive camp. When I fished harder a few years back, I would fishing a tournament at Rayburn and then drive to NE Texas for another tournament the next day. I put the generator in the back of the truck and charged the batteries on the drive.

The Honda ones are really quiet. I just installed one on a party barge. It really surprised me how quiet it was.

Similar charging issues for me. I bought one of the ''quiet'' generators. I have been very impressed with it. I added an hour meter just to keep track of hours for oil change / resale time.
This link is for the one I bought, Rainier R2200i Super Quiet.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach
