It will work, I sometimes use it when I'm in ultra clear water which Twok does not have. It's all about drag setting, and staying away from timber with light line.

I would use heavier line. You never know when you are going to hook up to a Hybrid mixed in with the sandies.

I always have heavy tied on; I primarily fish PK and never know when you're going to hook up with a double digit striper. When the are schooling they will hit regardless of line weight, greedy little boogers. Then again, I only fish sandies when I see them schooling or find a mess of them on my graph.

Is there a reason you want to see how light of string you can get away with? I use 30 lb braid...never know what you are going to catch...hate to get into a big school of hybrids and only have 6 lb line on..yikes! If you are only targeting white bass Im sure 6 lb is about all you need if you like being careful

6 lb test is more fun. You can duit Buddy PastorJohn landed his PB 50 lb Tennessee striper on 12 lb test. That's crazy skills! I landed a 25# striper kitty on twok on 10# fourcarbon. Took a while but doable.

The only time you need that light of line is in extremely clear water. In our north Texas lakes you never need to go less than 10 lb line. And I agree with the others, stripers and hybrids will take the same baits as whites, and to land one of those on 6 lb line will waste a lot of time because your drag would have to be set so light.

I used 10-20 pound line for a while but as soon as I started catching more whites/hybrids consistently they would fray the string and I was losing lures/fish almost every trip not from being rough with the fish but from wear and tear on the string that goes with catching more and more whites/hybrids which all have numerous sharp points on their body. Nothing worse then not only losing fish but making a fish swim away with a lure in its mouth. Ever since I switched to 30 pound braid I rarely rarely lose fish or lures and its almost always a failure of anything but the string at that point. In my opinion its better for the fish if you use heavier string then you are talking about if for no other reason so fish dont ever break off with lures in their mouth. Thats more sportsman then trying to catch fish on 6 pound line in my opinion.
Even guide Bob Maindelle who fishes crystal clear Belton and Stillhouse uses 20-30 pound braid for white bass with a 20-25 pound Fluor leader and consistently boats over a 100 fish per outing so line size has no negative impact.
Food for thought....

I typically use 6lb line for sand bass but if I am fishing Tawakoni I tie on some 10 lb line. That lake is famous for big hybrids. I learned this lesson fishing for crappie under the two mile bridge.

If you are using 6# on an ultra light sand bass rig a big hybrid or striper will spool ya You just have to chase them down with the trolling motor.

I think you should just use 2 pound line then and make it a real challenge

This is just a side note. As the water warms up in the summer, the fish build up a concentration of lactic acid in their blood from an extended fight. I do a lot of catch and release fishing and have watched people around me land fish that are floating to the surface a few minutes after being released. They never recover. If you meat fish, you can use whatever you want. If you want to enjoy the fishing resource and want to let it be fun for other people, use heavy tackle so the fight is short and the fish survive. Tight lines to everyone.

I use my 6lb mr crappie line for all of my sandbass and hybrid fishing. I don't have any problems landing fish. If you know what you are doing and have your drag set right you can catch some big fish doing this. I just like to keep it sporty. I don't keep them so if it costs me a fish or 2 I really don't care LOL
