I was wondering if you guys went when I saw the wind forecast for today. But you guys braved it and got some great fish. Really nice gills you are holding. Looks like you could have done a little surfing later in the day. Im missing Fayette in a bad way. Got to get over there or bust !
You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free

Doc...It was touch & go on deciding whether or not to brave it...but I know where to fish in the southeast wind on that lake. The issue is the coming & going to those spots. Morning wind wasn't too bad...maybe 10-15...but needed my weekly fix & glad we decided to give it a go even if I had to change clothes b4 heading home...
Thanks Laker & fishbonz for the replies...

Hey Vogey awesome slabs man! I haven't posted in a while but I saw those monsters and had say something. Great job! I also wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your pics and videos, both of which are great quality. I wanted to ask, what are you using to do your videos? Also were the gills you caught on the bed or can you catch them year round like that? I live up in the DFW area and have never fished Fayette. I've heard the bass fishing is excellent also. Might have to make a trip there.....when the wind dies down lol.

Thanks Gillotine...I have a Go Pro (I believe it is the Hero Black) to do the videos. I use windows Movie Maker to edit. As far as the gils go...from October to April they just disappear...have not figured out where thy go as of yet. I never consciously search for or fish beds. I believe 90 per cent of these guys live in and around the reed beds. I keep exploring new reed beds & finding more fish. As far as bass go, well...I think it may be the best small lake on the planet. You can catch the bass year round just about everywhere...just go deeper in the summer when the water temp is in the 90s...hope this helps...
