I have a chance to get back to the motherland at the end of the month and want to fish new to me water. I floated the comal years ago in my youth but never fished it. Where can I get my feet wet for a little wading? I don't recall how deep the river is; any stretches I could get in an walk a bit? Any help is appreciated.

This time of year the Comal River is going to have a lot of tubers on it. Prince Solms Park in New Braunfels which goes from the golf course all the way to the tube shoots is open to the public. Also Landa Park has a few places to fish. Best time to fish the Comal is after Labor Day. Side Note: Kayak Friendly!
IGFA World Record Rio Grande Cichlid. Lake Dunlap. John 3:16 Sinner's Prayer. God forgive me a sinner. I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior !

Good river to kayak fish during the fall and winter! Plenty of put in points open to the public.

Thanks for the replies, figured there would be tubers around in the afternoon so will be heading out early. Does anyone fish while tubing? Years ago I would occasionally bring along some tackle and caught several big stripers and cats drifting bluegills on the guadalupe during our float trips. Wish we had waterproof gopros back then, would love to see video of getting pulled around in a tube (Shiner Bock in hand) by 20-30lb fish.

Once while floating the Comal I saw two guys in tubes floating along and catching fish with the river full of tubers. Fish are used to the people. They will bite. I was sorry I did not have my pole that day.
