I have a pile of early gen Revo's and instead of spending a ton of money on new ones I have been pondering replacing some parts on these.
Handles/nuts, bearings, pawls etc.... the high wear items.

Its confusing with all the [censored] out there. I know most guys will say "go with what you prefer" but I don't have anything to compare it to. All my reels are basically the same!

For the handles should I get carbon or aluminum frame?
Would it be wise to bump up to the 95mm or 110mm handle length?
EVA foam or aluminum knobs?
Standard or ceramic pawls?
Steel ABEC 7's or ceramic bearings?

What's the consensus????
The Lixda brand seems to pop up a lot for handles...

Start by cleaning the heck out of those reels. Then put in Boca ceramic bearings, Carbontex drags. Dont over oil or grease everything. Use good oil Yellow Rocket fuel, and TG liquid grease. I've got a Shimano with a Hawg Tech carbon fiber handle on which I like.

An alternative is send your reels to someone like Shawn Smith, The Tackle Smith and have him go over your reels and tell you what parts might need replacing, etc.

Thank you.

I have some unshielded ABEC 7 ceramic hybrid spool bearings and a set of carbon fiber drag washer set for $30.

Thank you,
Shawn Smith

Can you send me a quote for a super tune with the bearing and drag upgrade for a Revo Premier foot # 17 00 18/45 AK?
