Well, I’m still not convinced it’s over yet...

Went yesterday evening and caught around 45.

None of the fish looked swollen with eggs so I assumed they were all spawned out.

All fish were 4’-6’ deep in 12’ow primarily off minnows with a handful off white and pink jigs.

My daughter is holding her “money” fish. We have a standing deal whoever catches the biggest fish gets $5 from dad.

With none of those fish showing colors and the depth, I would say those are post spawners.

Crud...I completely forgot to add that after I cleaned them, quite a few had eggs in them. I thought that was strange.

Can they lay their eggs and not get them all out? They weren’t packed full, but they did have eggs in them.

I thought that was interesting this morning when I cleaned them...

Yes, that is pretty common.. Especially with crazy weather/floods like this year. They will reabsorb them in the coming weeks.

Love the picture. I do the same thing with my kids. Its usually a first, second and third place for whoever catches the biggest and the most. Its really very entertaining for me because when money is on the line the trash talking goes on throughout the whole trip. Makes for some really great memories.

You’re right Ranger...she only managed 2 fish the whole time but she was prancing like a peacock every time a fish was caught that was smaller than hers...
