I didn’t even know this place existed until about 9 pm last night when I got dragged here for a wedding. Has anybody ever fished here? Done any good? It’s itty bitty and I’ve seen 1 little v-bottom all day long. Just curious...
Thanks

Yep, some folks catch em good, other folks like me usually catch some. Deep, rocky and clear. If you need a guide trip try Charles Whited, Barefoot Fishing Tours.

He’s talking about a little lake in the panhandle, not Canyon.

He’s talking about a little lake in the panhandle, not Canyon. He’s right, this is a little diamond in the rough just southeast of Lubbock.

I think thats the one the closed for awhile because the fecal matter part per million was above the allowed rate without being a health hazard Lotta cattle feed lots around there.

I’m pretty sure it is private.

It has been a L O N G time since I have been, but used to be some good fish there, back in the 80's. It used to not be private, because it is a water way in texas, but that was back in the 70s, so do not know any more. Wish I could help more. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

No, but I've fished Lake Tanglewood in Amarillo. Another private lake....caught bass up to 8lbs throwing waterdogs in one cove, the spring fed one. It reminded me of catfishing. Caught 40lbs of bass one evening in that cove. You'd know if you've ever fished it.

Ransom Canyon is a private lake, but its fed by Buffalo Springs Lake, which is right next to it, and public. As far as the fecal matter comment, I dont think its due to the cattle. Lots of houses around Buffalo Springs LOL. Its got nice bass, big striper and lots of cats and crappie. I wouldnt eat them tho
