This is my first Texas catfish! I caught it on the Brazos River in Granberry, Texas . I’m still an inexperienced Texas fisherman; I have no idea what species this is. Can anyone help? What species of catfish is this?

Welcome and everything is bigger in Texas.
Are you sure you caught that here?
Guessing someone smuggled it into the state.

Little Flatty, no offense but they get way way bigger. I hope you catch one of the large ones they are a blast.

a really colorful Op (splotchy YellowCat), which needs to be 18 inches long to be legal. And yes, they do get much bigger. For assistance in catching more volume of Yellows or Blues, see my calendar thread- Lynn's Catfish Calendar

Congrats on the flathead catfish. Now try for a channel catfish and a blue catfish.

Cool colors and the young ones. Never seen one that small. Pretty cool. Nice catch!
