I recently acquired 3 older Falcon Expert casting rods from the 2000's at a garage sale, all in little used condition (clean cork handles, all guides secure). MH, 7'. How do these compare to modern Falcons, Dobyns, Shimano, etc. in terms of performance and sensitivity? They were priced right. smile

I used to have an expert (head turner)

At the time it was my favorite rod, I broke it on a trip with my son last May. I now have the Cara T7 head turner and I can't tell a difference between the two. I would jump at the chance to own another older expert though, it was a great rod. (7' MH sounds like they are trap casters)

Depends on which version? Does it look like the Cara T7? If so, it's a great rod. That version prior to the new release were okay. They seemed more like the Bucco not like the "real" Expert models. I've had the guys at Falcon Rods offer to buy back my Expert "pitchin stick" and give me a Cara and $ in exchange. The said it was one of the best rods they ever made.
