I think one of the best little vacation spots I've been to in the past couple of years is a little village called Surfside Beach down on the Texas Gulf Coast. Small enough that it doesn't get waylaid by huge crowds, but close enough to Galveston you can still drive in if you are in the mood for that kind of thing. Good restaurants, clean beach, nice view, and its kind of fun to watch the huge cargo ships sail into the jetty. If you are looking for quiet and laid back it's that kind of place. We'll try to go a few times this summer.

We will make a couple of trips to Seadrift for some Specs and Reds as usual. We will also be going to the Rocky Mountains for some cooler weather and relaxation in late July.

Headed to Broken Bow to stay for a week and there are 14 of us going so it might be interesting. Found a 6 bedroom house to make sure everyone has their own space.

Anyone know the temps in Broken Bow in mid July?

Thanks

We are taking the in-laws to the white river in Arkansas for a week. They've never been to the Ozarks. Really looking forward to a float trip with the FIL. Just 3 weeks till we go.

What day and time are you meeting either of the Bob's at 407? I'll buy the burnt ends.

Haven't been on a real vacation in about 5 years. Might be time for a trip to beach or something.

Wife and I are headed for CO Springs for 6 days in about 2 weeks. Both kids are working for the summer, where they belong. Looking forward to the getaway with just me and my boss. Only have two plans so far....Royal Gorge and Pike's Peak. What else should we take in?

There's 7 Fall's and Garden of the Gods. We really liked CS and would go back. The hotel we ended up in was a Holiday Inn Express I believe. Our window faced Pikes Peak.

Probably heading to southwestern Ontario, Canada for a couple of weeks to visit an ailing aunt and uncle. Probably do a little fishing while there.

And drink beer.
