Little Ridge and Mallard Park are closed due to high water. Went by Lavonia on way home and the gate to the south ramp was open which usually means the ramp is still open. You can get current information on which parks are open tomorrow by calling Lake Lavon office at 972 442 3141. Press 1 after they answer to get the lake level, release rate and which parks/ramps are open.

I used the South Lavonia ramp Sunday and the ramp to the floating dock has about 1 foot of water on it . Still very usable but you have to wade for a little bit .

I was there Monday and launched from the south Lavonia ramp and used the floating dock, when we got back it had been locked.

With the courtesy dock closed, several boats were pulling up on the grassy bank just beyond the rip rap in the cove just north of the ramp. Busy activity on the ramp and the cove made trying to catch shad with my cast net a challenge.

Busy activity on the ramp and the cove made trying to catch shad with my cast net a challenge. Before they rebuilt the dock that is where I beached. That little cove can really hold some shad. I need to get back out there some time. Before the lake came up my buddy chunked his best ultralight rig out of the boat. We fished for it for an hour with not luck. We had the wrong equipment. Also I threw a marker out immediately and guess what he did on the second cast. I even warned him but he did it anyway.
