a combination of these factors:
(1) Bass fishing (2) Water accessibility (for people to play in the water) (3) bang for your buck (not necessarily cheapest) for house on the lake (4) overall lake community
I realize this is a general question and different people value different things (for example, some would like being an hour to the nearest small town whereas others would like to be within an hour of a town with some size like 100k). That's okay, it's informative to hear your take either way.

Easy one for me- Sam Rayburn even though you can't have a home on the water. TB would be a close second .

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip! #Brockstarama

After being at Rayburn for the first time a couple weeks ago that would be my vote.

After 2 years of trying to find a lakehouse on Toledo I've about decided to buy a place between both lakes. Everything on Toledo is either junk or WAY overpriced.

Weve had a place on Rayburn for 13 years. We like it because there is no houses on the lake. Wildlife in its prime. All kinds of fishing conditions up and down the lake. We got tried of the once a year trip and bought a place to learn the lake in all seasons. We will never regret it. The most beautiful lake in Texas IMO. God bless Texas !! Everything is big in Texas especially our bass !!!🐟🐟

I would say Palestine based on your criteria, but for me it would be Rayburn

Why can't you have a home on the lake at Rayburn?

Why can't you have a home on the lake at Rayburn? Corps of engineers lake.......no permanent structure below a certain elevation. Allows for fluctuations in lake level. Keeps the lake shoreline clean. No ragged boat docks or bulkheads

That is why I have always loved Rayburn!! I hate fishing a lake with boat docks side by side. I like the trees and wildlife. Just the way I like it!
