I've been down the last couple weeks and pretty much look at the largest chocolate milk shake in the world! I don't even lower the boat into the water from the dock. The BRA has been doing an amazing job of keeping the lake at a near constant level but when that water flows through, all the fish just hang on tight. My son took his boat out of our canal and drove around for a few minutes. It took a lot just to clear the floating debris everywhere. This year has really been abnormal to say the least. I've only lived there for a couple of years but when a hydrologist says they could've emptied the lake and filled it three times over, that's pretty spectacular. Hate to sound pessimistic... When the lake does clear, fishing's like all the other DFW area lakes but it'll be awhile for it to return to normality.

Granbury got 4 inches of rain last night and they are releasing 29300 CFS through the dam. Chocolate milk with big trees and debris floating down the lake. Also the TPWD ramp off 144 is closed for resurfacing.

At this time PK is releasing 16,000 CFS from the dam and Granbury is releasing almost 30,000 CFS. Both very high releases but the point is Granbury is releasing way more than they are taking in so it draws the mudline completely through the lake. As mentioned above its a mess from end to end right now. Even if I thought it would be worth the trip It would actually be dangerous/impossible to run on plane in Granbury anywhere right now. Big floaters everywhere. On another note: While Granbury releases 30,000 CFS Whitney is only releasing 1,500 CFS. They have it shut off to avoid adding to the flooding where the Brazos goes just west of Houston. Whitney is already well over 20 above full pool and rising fast.
