Listened to "Flat As A Pancake" (8-track of course) every morning and afternoon on my way to and from two-a-day football practice the summer of '78.

My parents used to play this on the way to the lake cabin every weekend. Still one of the best jams ever!

Darn sure do! He wrote the Texas National Anthem...thats the great Gary P. Nunn. If youre seeing him tomorrow night I can guarantee you three things: 1. Youll have a great time! He is absolutely fantastic live!, 2. The backing band will be a bunch of no-name musicians that could blow away 99.9% of the folks playing on popular country music records today., 3. The guitar player will be among the best youve ever seen in a live band...regardless of music genre.

Band I was in played on the same bill as these guys. They let us use some of their equipment for free...and paid their sound guy to run sound for us while we played a spot on a big outdoor three-day show in Southern Illinois. Some of the nicest, down to earth guys youd ever hope to meet...would bend over backwards to try and lend support to other struggling musicians/bands.

Never asked for anything, never got the big ego after that album (Flat As A Pancake) took off, never forgot where they came from. Wont ever forget the kindness of those guys!

I remember that I was on ground level the first time I heard giddyup um papa mow mow.

If I would have been on a skyscraper I would have jumped. It still makes me want to jump off of a water tower face first.
