For all you livescope users how many have the transducer mounted to the trolling motor? Do you use spotlock? and how important is each? (spotlock, powerpoles ,pole mount transducer. As well as any other tricks you might use to keep the target in sight while fishing. Thanks Buddy

I only went with a guide once but I got enough a lesson to provide input I think. First a lot of any recommendations has to do with how you fish. If you want to just find them and spot lock then I would think a separate shaft like shut-up-and-fish has would be good. If you mount the live scope transducer on the trolling motor while spot lock the trolling motor constantly rotates to keep position, with a separate shaft mount you can manually scan/search while tm does it�s own thing. If your gonna be hunting them down and don�t mind using the trolling motor/tm a lot then mounting it on tm would be nice. A lot of advice given would depend on your boat and how you plan to fish with your budget.

Don't put it on the trolling motor for sure.

I have mine on the TM and do not find it a problem.

I have my livescope transducer mounted on a poleducer I got from Shut Up and Fish. I also have the spotlock tm. For me, it's the only way to go, especially on windy conditions. The tm can do what it needs to do and I can keep my transducer pointed where I want it.

I haven't had mine very long but we used one early in the year and I loved it on the trolling motor for chasing down cruising fish. That said now that they are sticking to timber good and brushpiles I want it on a pole!! I can still get downwind and spotlock and let it settle down and fish or just run it no spotlock and fish but with other people in the boat trying to get them on fish with livescope a pole would be nice.

I have about 500 hours on Fork fishing timber and chasing down open water fish with Livescope. I use a liftsaver transducer pole and for guiding I think its perfect. I sweep mine fast from one side of the boat to the other. Once I see a fish or a piece of a fish I run towards the fish until its in range. 90% of the fish you see are uncatchable. I look for fish �floating� or locked on structure. I dont waste my time on what I call � swimmers�. Im covering lots of water quick. I never use spot loc other than on a brush pile if I fjsh one which isnt often. Now the pole can be a pain and I would prefer it on T/m but to me its not how I fish. Once I see a fish I never lose sight of him. I know many guys successfully using it on T/m and would never say you can�t do it. I take people out weekly that have Livescope that leave realizing they only thought they knew how to use it. There are several tricks to dialing it in to get the ultimate success out of it. My best advice is, if the fish did not react in one of 3 ways, you were either not close enough or he did not see it. They will bite, spook or swim up and look at it. If he spooks it because you came in behind him, got below him or plopped your bait in the water. They will always react if you get it in his zone. Some zones are 3� and some are 6 invhes. To get really good, get a bait 6� away in 5-10 seconds. Check out my facebook for what Livescope has done for my customers on Fork since January. Its the greatest tool invented since the fish hook.
