The main culprits seems to be injectors on the HPDI's. If one clogs up its not getting the oil / gas mixture it needs. That cylinder goes dry quick while the rest keep on going. Different that 4strokes that are getting splashed with oil constantly.

I've gone to adding injector cleaner along with ring free now days and saying alot of prayers. LOL. (05 225 HPDI with nearly 500 hrs).

I lost compression on 2 cylinders on my 2002 years ago. Got quoted a new powerhead but my Dad being the mechanically inclined person he is said we are pulling the heads first before we trust a mechanic. $20 head gasket later I was back up and running for the next 4 years before I sold it. Just saying.........
