15 years of running the dog piss out of my 250 HPDI and I finally blew my power head yesterday. The only issue I ever had out of that motor was bad fuel down at 3 rivers, and that was in 07. Cant even get upset about it, she was a damn good motor! Everyone have a great and blessed day.

You got a good life out of that one.

Curious, what was your fuel regimen? Additives? What octane?

BOAT. Lot's of truth in that. I just tore a hole in my 7 year old boat cover but cheaper than your loss.

I bought my nitro savage, with a 150 Mercury EFI. Still purrs like kitten, and runs like a scalded dog. I have always used mercury oil, and premium fuel most of the time. Wish I had an hour meter.

For the most part I ran 87 ethanol free gas with ring free. When I did run ethanol gas I made sure to put stabilizer in it. I changed fuel filters every year and have changed the micro filters on the injectors twice.

So with a blown powerhead it's cheaper to just buy a new motor? Clueless about boats, and most other things for that matter.

Not even close to the price of a new motor. That new powerhead is going to cost between 6 to 8 thousand. New engine will probably run you 25.

Did you run it a lot bud? Regularly. That seems to be the key with these HPDIs. They want to be run. Dont like to sit. did you lose a cylinder?

Hey, bro...knew we had something in common. I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. My repair will be at the tune of $7,500, paid extra for a two year warranty. It's a '99 200EFI. They just ain't made to last forever! Yes, have a great and blessed day.
