I'm moving down to the coast and have the option of living in Kingsville or Corpus area and am new to fishing the areas around those towns (such as Baffin Bay). Does anyone know which of these areas is better or more preferred for inshore fishing? I probly shouldn't base my moving decision off of this but am interested in knowing what would be best for someone new to the area.

Also, would it be a good idea to use a fishing guide service to familiarize myself with whatever area I will be fishing? I plan on buying a boat a few months after I move.

Thanks!

Lot more inshore options in Corpus/Aransas Pass for everyday fishing. Baffin would be an occasional trip for me. A kayak comes in handy for short shallow trips like LHL and B&R on the 361 causeway.. Cheers

I'm not familiar at all with Baffin. I've seen some big fish come from there but the down side to Baffin if you're in a boat is all the rocks that are just under the surface. If you don't know it very well you could do some serious damage.

There are so many places with very good fishing in and around Corpus. You have a lot more options there.

You get out of it what you put into it!

I don't ever see me living on the coast again, but if I were to pick, I'd choose Corpus.

I lived in New Orleans metro for 36 years. I'm done with having to evacuate due to a storm coming in.

But I'd be lying to say I don't miss the fishing.

Got the salt bug bad right now.

Just got back from an impromptu trip on Baffin today. It was the best day Ive ever had bay fishing. Went through Baffin Bay Rod and Gun. Guide was Capt. Sutton Schoonover and hes legit, kept us on big reds and specs all day. Id recommend giving them a shout if you want to learn how to fish Baffin. 5 of us went out and each caught a limit of reds and specks
