Anyone have spot lock cut off for no apparent reason. Had it happen several times last weekend but not every time. Seemed to work better in windier conditions rather than calm water.

Make sure your handle or anything else for that matter is not under foot control. The slightest resistance will kick it off.

I'd wager $ that this is the problem. It worked in windy conditions because the head and pedal didn't have to rotate much. Probably a bottle of line conditioner or something under the pedal.

Something likely under the pedal, usually the pull handle

Mine cuts off every now and then. Not sure what the cause. I do know if I try to spot lock with the prop facing away with me I get the beep and have to adjust then lock.

Had lots of issues in the first couple of months with my unit tripping out of spot lock for no apparent reason. Can't say 100% that this was the problem but after slightly loosening the cable tension screw on the foot pedal, all those issues have gone away. Not sure if higher cable tension binds the head movement enough to trigger the unit to "kick out" of SL . Best I remember, I backed the screw out about 3/4 of a turn.

I snapped the cable on mine a while back, had it fixed, and ever since then when on spot lock if the TM ever has to turn as far right as possible it will beep and kick off spot lock. Its literally stuck in that position when it does that. It takes a small bit of force on the foot pedal to get it out of that turned position.

If you can't find em wind em.

Sounds like you have an issue with whomever did the install on your new cables. Something isnt right

I had same problem with mine. Worked about 50% of the time and best if there was some breeze. Read all the suggestions about the cables, pedal, calibration, etc.... Tried everything twice with no luck. Finally took it to G&S Trolling Motors in Houston and they found a defective part in the unit itself. They had it back to me in 24 hours and works flawlessly now.
