I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on the products and techniques you use or have used to remove oxidation from a boat. I have some light oxidation and want to get that smooth finish and shine back to my boat.

Light oxidation can be buffed out with compound. If its heavy then wet sanding is the fastest way.

Yep. I wet sand with 2000, or 1000 if it's really rough, grit sand paper by hand until smooth to the touch, then use a power buffer and rubbing compound to return it to shine. Finish with a good boat wax.

Keep the boat waxed regularly; I've found that once the oxidation appears, it returns after buffing more rapidly than before. The wax will extend the time between buffing jobs.

This!! My old skeeter was the same way. Hell it felt like a rock driveway and after hours of wet sanding and a big buffer with wax it was smooth as a babys butt. Just stay on top of it because it seemed to come back. Im not sure why it comes back but it does. Sand til you see the water turning milky and your doing it right. Then wash off as needed. It takes time if its bad. Good luck bud

Oh and get one of those contoured sandpaper holders because it saved my hand. Also get a cheap spray bottle to use to spray water instead of a water hose.
