I screwed mine down right there. I don’t think the rod box is part of the bottom of the boat

This is the front right storage box

I put mine in the same compartment but mounted it to the outer side where the wires go straight up over. I put all the screws in it after using a small drill for pilot holes.

I mounted min in the starboard side storage box and installed a fuse junction box. Then ran an 8ga wire for ground and power from the starting battery to the junction box and ran power wires for my Garmin 93sv and Lowrance at the bow and Lowrance at the dash to the fuse block. What is nice about this is one location if a fuse blows, you don't have to pull the dash or bow panel to access the fuses. Also ran the ground for the bow electronics and livescope to the box as well. Single ground eliminates noise.

So you screwed it to the side that borders the gunnel? Is it thick there to not worry about punching through hull?

I’m all for doing this, as I ran A 10 ga wire straight to batteries. Only thing is that’s wiring around the master power, does the module still draw power if the head unit is turned off?

Was thinking pulling power from the master power at the console (not the perko) so I can Kill power to the graph and module like all the other electronics
