Ive got a new Ultrex and occasionally the spot lock shuts itself off. At first I thought maybe by leaving the speed setting too low it couldnt keep up so before Id turn it on Id flip the toe speed dial up and engage it. At first, I thought that was the trick but now Im not so sure as it still gives up and shuts itself off. At times the motor will turn itself one way or the other all the way and then give up - it takes a bit more pressure on the foot pedal to initially turn it back. I also have intermittent interference on the bow bird. Something else I need to figure out. Any suggestions on my spot lock?

Oh, my two mega units are networked together. The guy who I bought the trolling motor from said itd read the map card on the cockpit bird so I dont yet have one for the bow. Should I invest in one?

I had that issue and found that had to reposition the foot pedal a little. It was hitting the side of the TM foot pedal tray and was unable to turn in a certain direction all the way. Once I did that it hasnt quit on me once. Good luck!

The SLIGHTEST obstruction to free movement will cause it to lose spot lock. Check for overly tight cables, transducer wiring wound too tightly around the shaft, wiring around the pedal, fishing pole touching the pedal, etc.

Ill check but my foot pedal sits even with the deck not in the well (my well is tapered and the pedal wouldnt fit so I built a tapered block to make it sit up and even with the deck). I will check to ensure that there are no cables that could be binding it up. If thats the case thats the easiest solution I could hope for. Thanks guys.
