I had an Xpress H20 Bay. I shopped hard and looked the brands you mentioned as well. Xpress seemed to be put together better than others. Boat rode and handled great. I really enjoyed it.

Check out Crestliner. Its one of the better quality aluminum boats from what I have seen. My 2013 Xpress H20 Bay has served me well, but it's construction is not one of its strong points.

I would go to Louisiana and have a custom built boat to my exact specifications.

Getting one built is definitely your best option for a true lifetime boat. I build custom boats when oil and gas is in the toilet and as a hobby. The boats I have built for people are simply superior to a manufactured boat. Some of the duck boats I built have 3/16" bottoms. Hard to find that in a production boat. Just proceed with caution handing someone half the money up front..... Guys have been burned like that with some builders along the red river. Good luck!

It's only a good cast if you catch a fish...

An example of the transom of a custom boat duck I built. Entire back is 1/4" aluminum and is obviously heavily backed up. Entire bottom and shell is 3/16". You won't find a production boat built like that..... Good luck with your hunt.

I have a 21' SeaArk Baymaster. Been really happy with it. It isn't the best boat for bass tournaments. If you truly want an aluminum bay boat, you would probably be very happy with it. The newer version has better storage than mine and even has rod lockers plus a little bit of a "back deck".

Sabine Skiffs -- built locally in La Porte -- offer a 3/16" bottom. And a No Wave Slap hull. But they are poling skiffs, not bay boats.
