I guess I am the only one that likes LONG rods. I use the Dobyns 804 crig rod. GREAT for long casts, setting the hook, fighting the fish and all around performance. Best Crig rod I have found. Used to use the heavy Pass Pro rod, but it is not NEARLY as responsive as the 804. It goes from 3/8 to 1.5 oz. 12 to 25 lb test. It is a Heavy rod with a with a Fast tip. Here is link to it if interested.

GREAT C-rig rod for me. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I'll have to agree 100%! The length really helps out with long leaders that I like to throw. It does other things well too, like Alabama rigs and punching! Great rod! With that said, I really like the DX 784 too and have 2 of them. The 784 is just a tad softer and more parabolic.

Flat out love my Dobyns 804c for Crigging. Super sensitive, casts a mile, and hookup ratio is near 100%.

I use several, but usually use one at least 7.3:1 or higher. Nearly all brands have good reels these days, just goes to what you prefer. I like Shimano. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

You're not the only one. I like 8'ers and I'm a short chit. I use an 804C and my favorite cranking rod is an 805CBRM

Tx Strampion,

II AGREE with you whole heartedly. I stand 5'8" and LOVE long rods and you just mentioned two of my favorites. GREAT COVERAGE and HOOK SEETING ability. Can't beat them in my opinion.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
