I'm taking my fishing buddy to Athens Fri., which is the first time he's been able to get out in quite a while. This might be his last trip depending on how he does this trip.

We don't want to know any secrets, just some indication of what we might be facing so he might have a good day on the lake. We'll be fishing for bass, catch and release.

PM me if you wish.

Thanks

It's been a little "off" for me the past few trips. Lots of males still guarding fry shallow.....the boom has been moved so access to north end is easier.....caught some last week on chatterbaits and senkos.
Good luck Sir.

Very tail end of the spawn probably . Mostly post spawn. Try to look at them, if that doesnt work fish grass lines and points.

Ret, if I may ask sir. Is your friend terminally ill or something? Maybe some of the Athens sticks can give you some pin point info for your buddy. thumb

Not terminally ill, just difficult for him to get around and in and out of the boat.

Caught a nice limit last weekend with a kicker of 8.88! I'd throw a senko, a squarebill, and a dropshot around docks and u will hammer them. we caught close to 21 pounds for our best five

Thanks for the replies but we arrived at Athens to an overflowing parking lot. We decided to find a less congested lake so drove to Canton and Mill Creek. It was very muddy and we only managed to catch 1 mangled up bass.

He did decide it was his last trip. He just doesn't feel safe getting in and out of the boat from the dock and stepping up and down from the decks.

28 years we have fished together after meeting in Canton at a Bluegrass festival Hamburger stand. A lot of good memories of our fishing times together and fishing trips we've taken with our wives. We fished and they shopped.

Should have stayed at Athens. We got there around 730 fished until 530. Really wasn't crowded.
