I am fairly new to kayak fishing and myself and a buddy wanted to find a place that would be good for use to take the kayak and run some jug lines in the dew area. we would prefer to stay off of the main lake and get back in a creek or cove any info helps out we just want to get out enjoy nature and catch a few fish. don't need anyones secret spots

I assume you mean DFW? If so, Denton creek is a good option as is the north end of Ray Robert. The north end of Ray Roberts is heavily treed so the boat traffic is slow. Trophy Club Park has a nice ramp to put in at Denton Creek... you can go upstream and find deep holes or downstream into Grapevine Lake.

I also like to fish the ponds around George Bush and 35. You can put in at Sandy Lake Rd and follow the Trinity north about a 1/4 mile to Denton Creek and then into a large pond https://goo.gl/maps/TwJtELuBPwrDVGjq9

This time of year the cats are shallow. Most boats wont go in the skinney water. Id look for a shallow flat at the mouth of any creek no matter how small. Dont be afraid to go really shallow. Some of my biggest cats come in water 18" deep. I really pref lewisville then a second ray roberts.
