Keep being you, don�t treat her as a guest. She needs to see the real you all the time. Don�t set high expectations unless you think your somehow gonna keep up with them forever.

Make sure y�all have an understanding about friends and y�alls social time, whether it be integrating friends or separately.

I've been married for 22 years. I'm only 43. I've made lots of mistakes. I finally listened up and started doing what I'm told. Things are great now.

Marriage is not a 50/50 proposition. It has to be at least 60/40. If you are willing only to go half way and she also, possibly neither actually made it to 50%.
For a successful marriage you first have to be best friends. If not how can you ever expect to be in Love.
Compromise is the secret to a successful marriage and jealousy is poison. You have to be a trusting, understanding and supportive spouse to make it work. Don't forget it is the little things that mean the most.
You need to both have the same goals in life and need to discuss them or else you won't know what they are.
Live, laugh and enjoy each other. You have to put them ahead of friends, family and all else.

I wish my wife and I lived together before we got married, even if it was after we got engaged.

Why do you feel the need to give up your privacy and autonomy? I just don�t get it. There is plenty of time to live together when you get married. Get a maid, get to know your dry cleaner, and enjoy eating out together. Moving them in is much easier than moving them out. JMO based on painful experience. Good luck, whatever you do.
