If you fished Pines on Saturday, and caught fish, could you let me know what was working? I'm just curious if I never tried the right bait, depth, location or what. We usually do pretty good on PInes, especially with water in the bushes, but not on Saturday.

We launched at Lone Star Saturday morning around 11.00 and fished several different areas and techniques without a bite. We finally decided to run down to Medlin Creek and fished there an hour or so. Then we hit a few more spots mid lake. We pitched the bushes 1/2 the time and tried many tried and true techniques there but just couldn't find the fish. I think we put 4 in the boat and missed 4 or 5 and that was it.

Those days frustrate me when I just can't seem to figure them out. If you figured it out, I would love to know how you caught them.

Thanks.

With the big bass circus in 2 weeks I doubt you'll get much info.Plus they seem to always open the gates right before then.

Ha Frank!! I've fished Pines enough now to usually figure out something to put more fish in the boat.

I'm not wanting to know how to catch them for a tournament because I don't fish tournaments. Was just curious what worked that I didn't try.

Pines is up 3+ feet and there are flooded bushes everywhere so they may be spread out way up by the banks that you can't get to right now.

There was a lot of current up on the north end, so I imagine the gates are open now.

Ive only fished it twice. Once with some friends and then once I met these two guys coach and Z at the restrooms by the dam as they invited me to go fishing... but they were acting kinda funny so I went bank fishing and kept an eye out for them. I need to get back out there.

My good buddy went to Pines Sat for a few hours and never had a bite. The full moon might have been messing with the fishing not sure. I love that lake though especially when the water is high!!

It's probably spawning time, and depending on when the water came up, I would fish the "old" bank line. I don't feel fish move up into bushes during the spawn as fast as they will post spawn.

Fished South end of lake a couple weeks ago. I killed them on Redbug finesse worm, no weight with 2/0 hook for slow fall.

I think the next time we go we're gonna hit the South end again. We love it up North, but it wasn't our day Saturday. We probably need to move around a little quicker sometimes.

Thanks to all for the info and good luck on your next trip.
