Made a trip up to Lake Crockett yesterday and spent five hours bed fishing. Water temperature is 66 degrees and slightly stained with visibility to 1.5 feet. Fished the southeastern banks due to strong south wind. Caught 5 of 6 fish we located on beds with the biggest being 4 3/4 lbs. Most fish came on PB&J jig. Also caught two fish roaming pad stems using shade swimbait. Did not spend much time out in hydrilla but expect it has a good population of post-spawn fish based on the number of large fry roaming the shallows. Spent some time throwing a frog with no success. The setup of this lake speaks frog bite but may need the pads and hydrilla to grow a bite for the frog bite to improve. Advise for catching these spawning fish: Turn off all sonar, stow trolling motor and use push pole. Good luck. Video camera captured about 1.5 hours of the trip: https://youtu.be/n7olgDrbR6E
