The hugging thread got me to thinking.
I'm hate when people stand closer than 30" when talking to me. I don't want to know what you had for lunch.
So how close is too close?

I actually did a paper on this for some BS class in college. What's interesting about this is it's very cultural. For Americans it's normally about 30 to 36 in. Anything closer than that people get uncomfortable usually. Now you look at the Middle East, those dudes stand literally right on top of each other.
But yea about an arms length or a bit more is the norm here.

Yep, I took a business communications class that covered everything from how to write an email to how to shake hands/sit in a chair to different cultures and how they close they stand, how to exchange business cards, etc. It was interesting.
