Do the sand bass not run up the trinity on the north end of eagle mountain? I have fished out of my kayak as far up each split as I can go and cant seem to locate them. The few folks whom I have met when I was kayaking said some years is great some not a fish. Guys at the Wise County boat launch said that the average depth north of the island is 8 feet and that the lack of flow and abundance of silt make for bad a sand bass spawn. Am I going to have to brave the main lake in my kayak to get into some fish?

A five spot for a shot and a beer? And you wonder how we wound up here.

I guess I am just used to the way they spawn in Denton Creek. There are places in that creek where a kayak or an air boat are the only way to get to them, but when they are running, fishing is usually pretty good all the way up. I am going to give it another shot and might try some other areas on the west side. I was told they run up Indian Creek but I will avoid the fishing fee as long as I can.
