Visiting Bardwell May 18, 19. Only test drove a boat on the lake never fished it. We will be fishing that wkend though. Looking for sandies maybe some catfish. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Keep an eye on the lake level. I think its already 3.5 ft high and looks to be more rain next week.

For channels I would start in the rocks at the damn, blues there also, and on the shallow end of the lake, I don.t fish for sandies much, but I have caught them in decent numbers over humps on both sides of the sandy banked areas leading to the dam.

depending on the rain, I would expect the corp to release water and be back to a fairly normal level by then. Either way, for sandbass, you could probably do pretty well trolling outside the mouth of Motts Park as well as the mouth of Love park. You might also find them on the old road bed just north of the 34 bridge. For cats, catch fresh shad, and head North early.
