Are you dead set on Lavon? If I was making the drive from Houston, Lavon would be towards the bottom of my list.

You may be the first person to ever drive that far to fish Lavon. Good news is not many fish the lake so it doesn't get much pressure for bass. The west arm of the lake has standing timber and the north end of the east side does too. Good luck.

I enjoy fishing Lavon a LOT more than Hubbard. Lots of 5-7 pound fish in there. Big Bass of the year the last two years in our Club has come from Lavon and both were over 10

Lavon is probably one of the most under rated Lake in the metro.....

Not many hazards if youre planning to stay around the south end of the lake. Just swing out around the points and dont run along the banks and youll be fine

Be careful if you go under the railroad bridge into Mallard. Lot of trees in there.

if youre dead set on Lavon, the Collin park marina and everywhere behind it is on fire right now.

Those are Doug's fish. I can't fish for them.
