Fished from my kayak on Lake Dunlap from 8am till 2pm. Fished the upper river and launched from the I-35 bridge. Got lucky and located some crappie just outside the launch wake zone. Picked up several nice crappie using a Crappie Magnet Chartreuse/Red jig. Also caught several nice Bluegill behind the first Island in 4' of water using Gulp Alive Maggots. Rounding out the catch were six bass in the 1 to 2 pound range. The bass were caught on White/Red Rooster Tails. All fish were released. The water was clear and the current was strong. Wind was strong so I did not go that far down the river. Saw only one bass boat. Good times on Dunlap. woot

Side Note: Lake Conditions will need to take a couple of days to improve after last night storms. taz We needed the rain. coolio

Nice !...I thought all the crappie were further down river...still got a lot to learn about that lake...btw...I got 1.3 inches here in New Braunfels last night, so water should not be badly stained...

Vogey: The spawn is over. I am finding Crappie on both Mcqueeney and Dunlap in 8 to 15 feet of water by docks! I have caught Crappie a lot of times fishing the upper part on all of the river lakes. It's true I do catch most of them down river!

Thanks Curtis. The Rio bite has been good so far this year. A lot of trophy fish have already been caught. Going to be a great year catching some BIG trophy Rios. hooked

Been quiet for several days, so figured I'd give a bump for Dunlap in case someone had a report.
