My grandfather taught me to always buy American Used to but now there is not much of a choice. Cars, clothes, tv's, computers, etc. Dang shame too.

You can't go wrong with a Toyota 4 runner. Wife has had three of them. This is her 2016 with about 20,000 miles. 4x4 SR5

The only problem or flaw I have noticed in the new 4-Runners is the back seat sits high,at 6'1" my head touches the ceiling when riding in the back seat.

cant go wrong with toyota
call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

Great vehicles. Started to by one this last fall. Upon further examination they just didn't have enough room for hauling luggage etc. in the back. Went with a GMC Z71 4X4 crew cab with 6 1/2 foot bed. Added ARE shell. Well pleased.

I've got a 2007 with 167k on the clock. The water pump was weeping at about 150k so I had a new one installed. That's the only thing I've ever done to it besides normal upkeep (oil, battery brakes, etc). Best vehicle I've ever owned. I don't know what years you're looking at but be aware that there are some reports of bad head gaskets on the 2004 V6 models. They changed the gasket design or something at some point in 2005 and it's not been an issue since then.
t4r.org is a very active 4Runner forum - definitely go over there and check it out if you're considering buying one.

I have a 2011 SR5 4WD. It has been a great vehicle. My first SUV. The only thing that caught me off guard was how big the blind spots are compared to the cars and trucks I had before. Took a bit to adjust. Otherwise, I have had no issues. My average MPG is 19. Been great for towing a boat and as a hunting vehicle. It rides very well (surprisingly well actually). The only thing I might have done different is get the upgraded radio package.

I am glad I just have the standard system. I added a PNP amp from Taco Tunes, Infinity Kappa 60s xovers, and a Fosgate 10" sub. It blows away any factory system. I went the Taco Tunes sub and wiring package only because it is PNP. I debated for months about whether or not to use their amp. Neighbor has one that he bought off another neighbor. 300k+ and a couple of timing belts and ujoints is it. Unfortunately it is an earlier model that has the belt.

Ever notice in the bush or over in foreign countries out in the desert they all drive one kind of vehicle, the most dependable Toyota.

Yeah I have a 2012 Tacoma with the premium sound and it is great for factory. My wife bought a 2017 RAV4 with premium sound and it is nowhere close to sounding like mine very disappointing.
